Skin Care Tips Using Household Items

With so many products and campaigns promising to take care of your skin, sometimes it pays to simplify. You don’t have to be an expert in dermatology to find the best skin care regimens for you. Here are some awesome tricks for protecting your skin.

Zap your zits with tea – Well, tea bags. After a pimple bursts, press a warm tea bag to it to soothe the inflammation and stop the bleeding. Warm tea bags also work well to draw sub-surface acne to a head. Less squeezing = fewer acne scars.

New shoes? No problem – Say goodbye to painful blisters from breaking in new shoes. Just rub a little deodorant on the parts of your foot that get rubbed the wrong way, and you’ll be blister-free. (The deodorant essentially acts as a lubricant.)

Feel the burn (or rather, don’t feel the burn) – If you were out in the sun a little too long, soothe your burn with some plain yogurt. It helps to return the proper moisture to your skin, and feels nice and cool on your burns.

Oil-be-gone – If your skin is gathering excess oils, fear not. Toilet seat covers (which are totally sanitary out of the dispenser!) can double as blotting sheets in the event of an oily disaster. Ice cubes can also help, but might mess up your makeup.

Banish the blackheads – All you need is a slice of lemon, sprinkled with sugar, applied directly to the problem areas. This is a great body acne treatment, and unlike other dermatology-focused scrubs, it will leave you smelling lemony and sweet.

Wave goodbye to whiteheads– If you see a new whitehead forming, apply some tomato pulp to it, leave it for 5 minutes, and wash it off. The vitamin C will help to rejuvenate the surrounding skin. Visit here for more information. Find out more about this topic here.
